The Kaiser Edition

The Kaiser Edition

Should the Kaiser come back? Vote.

I officially resigned from web 2.0 on my birthday and that is nearly three months ago. I miss it. I didn’t at the beginning but I’m missing it now so I’d thought I’d come back.

But should I? Do you want me to come back? Are you fed up of my mustache?

I don’t know the answers to any of those questions so I’d thought I’d put it to the vote.

Should you, dear readers, decide that, no, it wouldn’t be a good idea for me (and the crew) to come back again I will down tools and you’ll never hear a peep out of The Kaiser (Marcus, Sacrum et. al) ever again. Simple as that.

UPDATE: Apparently the consequences of the result are not clear (see comments).

  • A vote for “no” means the end of basically everything; The Kaiser, Marcus Brown, Sacrum etc. and all that comes with them (be always opening, twitter, comments, blip, youtube, slideshare - everything) - a web wide ban, if you wish.
  • A vote for “yes” is a proper return, a merger of Be Always Opening with The Kaiser Edition and all that that entails.

Hope that clears things up a little.

Voting closes Monday the 25th August at 9:01 C.E.T.

The Sacrum Slides.

I was sorting through the old stuff over the weekend and stumbled upon Sacrum’s slides. I had a lot of fun being Sacrum, because he was generally a very positive and hopeful kind of guy. A bit naive he was too, but a welcome change to my usual cynical self.

I’ve popped the slides up on to flickr and bundled them together into a slideshare presentation.

Oh, and the comments are open again, I’ve decided that Web 3.0 is here. The Kaiser Edition shall return in a couple of weeks, with a few new contributors. But more on that later.

Good bye 2.0

So my lovely ones, this is the last post. Contrary to what you may think (Ben) there will be no more projects or characters that pop up somewhere on the other side of the Internet. This is really it.

I won’t be deleting The Kaiser Edition as I think some of the stuff you will find here is actually quite good, but I will be turning the comments off because I would have to come online to moderate them, and as I’ve formally resigned from the Web 2.0 that would be a breach of contract.

Thank you all for coming, reading, linking and commenting. Thank you for writing your own splendid things that I, in turn could comment on and link too. You’ve all been lovely, even Ben. But that’s now come to an end. There will be no more comments from me, my very last twitter pretty much sums up everything I want to say.

So, on this, the first day of my own personal new year (37 don’t you know) I’m going to start doing things in real life. Not in Beta.

No, not in Beta.

Good bye to you. Good bye Sir Martin.
